My husband and I badly wanted a child and we attended a fertility clinic for 2 years unsuccesfully--he has a low sperm count! I was so desperate to have a child that when I was away on bussiness I picked up a stranger who looked like my husband gave him a false name and ended up having sex with him. I planned it for when I was ovulating. My beautiful daughter is now 9 months old and my husband thinks she is his and loves her to bits! Absolutely no-one else knows not even the biological father but I am racked with guilt!! what should I do??

Don't tell your husband. What good would it do? He loves her to bits and it would tear him apart if he knew.

I am a guy and I would have to say I would be totally devostated if you told me the truth. That could destroy him and what you have in more ways than one.

I am a man too and I would agree with what the last two posts said. Don't tell him. Live with what you have done.
And after all, it is not such a bad thing to have done! In the end you've created a beautiful child, who is loved and adored by both of you. So live and learn! However do not tell him. He probably would forgive you, but why do it?

I'm a mommy . I say don't tell him. It would be another thing if this bio-father was in your life , i.e a neighbor, friend, co-worker etc. Someone you have to deal with but you planned this , having this man look just like your husband , I wouldn't worry.
I have looked into surrogacy & people pay people to have babies for them , Men donate sperm to ladies who need it, I say this is close to a sperm donor sisuation. Dont tell him & cause him heartbreak it might pull his attachment away from your daughter just knowing that she isn't really "his".
He is the one who loves her, takes care of her & supports her, he is the FATHER!! Heather

Never tell your husband or child! Your punishment is to keep this guilt inside of you forever. If you tell them, you will only hurt them.

If you are so worried now, why didn't you ask him if he would rather NOT have a child or allow you to be fertilized by someone else? Why do something you knew was fucked up without him having any say, and now you want to burden him with it? Live with it- why fuck up his world, and the child's world, because YOU single-handedly made a decision and a choice involving someone who had no say?

As an attorney, viewing these responses, I am forced to think of what has caused such ignorance in America. For people to say not tell your husband of a child that is not his. I assure you that he will find out one day, whether it is through a mistake blood test or any other situation. Nevertheless, you will be target for many legal conflicts that your husband will have power over. I would think about this situation twice if I were you, or you could be on the street with a child, for not being honest in the first place. Say that you were raped for all I care, but you must tell. That is the only legal thing you can do!

You are such a slut. You don't care about your husband, you just want a child. That is so slutty. Tell him, or you'll have the guilt forever, what about your child? You'll also be lying to her. I mean, don't you want to set a good example. Tell him. If he gets mad, then you totally deserve it. How could you be so awful to the people you love?

I told him. I AM a slut, this awful. I am a dirty whore. I deserved it, I guess. What'll I do? Now nobody will have sex with me.
