I went to a backyard BBQ last weekend. My fiance refused to go because he will not eat off of paper plates, eat with plastic utensils, or drink from plastic cups. I went alone and told them that he was still at work. I came from humble beginnings, but he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He "works" for his dad's company. I want to leave him, but the sense of financial security is hard to let go of. I am the happiest and saddest I have ever been in my life. And everyone thinks we're so perfect. If they only knew.-Trapped in Oregon.

Honey, I know it's a difficult position to be in, but I would rather be poor and happily in love then sadly unhappy and have alot of money. You know what they say "money can't buy love". My fiance and I are struggling and he always has problems finding jobs and then when he has them, he never keeps them. We want to marry but have no money saved - we have nothing, and half the time I have to help him buy stuff, but you know what? I'm so in love with him and he treats me like gold--I'm his Angel. I would live in a box in the street if it meant being with him forever. Your man, however, may have money but he sounds like a stuck-up jackass. Who wants that? People with money that are snobby, make me sick. If you don't love him or if you're unhappy with the relationship -- get out now!! Who cares about the money? Money's not everything. Love and happiness are far more important. Good Luck!!

I do love him. He treats me well. But I hate the way he treats other people around him. Like when we go out he's snotty to the waiters, bartenders ect.. It's so embarassing to me. I'm sure people are assuming that I'm just like him. The whole time I'm dying inside from embarassment. He talks crap about his so called friends. He says "Let's go out". I then know I'm in for a crappy night.

I'm so sorry. I guess it is easier said than done when you love him. If he's treating you good and has respect for you, then yes, stay with him. As far as how he is in public, that's hard considering he's embarrassing you. My fiance can get loud and be rude to people who are rude to him. Not even being rude, just when we're out in public, he's not mean to people or snobby, he's just not afraid to speak his mind if a waiter or cashier or somebody pisses him off. I just tell him to stop and be quiet about it and that he's embarrassing me. Maybe if you just tell him straight out that he's embarrassing you, maybe he'll keep himself in check. When I tell my fiance that he's embarrassing me, he stops, he may think I'm crazy from being embarrassed or keeping him from truly speaking his mind to those idiots who deserve it, but he stops. Have you said anything to him about how he makes you feel around people? If not, try it, it won't hurt and who knows? He may just double think before acting next time. If he truly loves you and wants you to be happy, he'll be considerate of your feelings and not do anything that you are uncomfortable with - especially in public. Good Luck!!
