theres this guy i've liked for about 4 years, and he used to be friends with my brother but he isn't allowed to come over any more. one day he was talking to my friend on line and she told me that he was asking about me and said i was cool and stuff. does this mean he might like me or was he probably just wondering because he used to see me all the time? please help

If he's not allowed to come over, there must be a good reason. He was probably just wondering hwo you were doing. Forget about him.

Why would you ask something like that here? Case you haven't noticed, except for a few exceptions, there is very little intelligence here. Most posters also appear to be about grammer school age, hence very little worldly experience, although of course they wouldn't see it that way.

Why can he not come over to your house any longer?

Maybe because the board is entitled "Anything Goes"? Just a thought. By the way, its "grammar".

Well, it sounds to me like there were very good reasons for this person to be banned from your house. He showed very poor judgement, and your parents want to shield you and your brother (and themselves!) from that sort of person. Now, this does not mean that he is unredeemable. If you want to pursue a relationship with him, you have to talk to him, casually -- find out if he is more than what you've already encountered. You know he is capable of irresponsible behaviour and dishonesty. But were these one-time things, or is it an ongoing problem?

If he truly cares about you and is not just interested in trying to get in your pants, then perhaps it is worth pursuing. However, if your opinion is that he has not changed, then he is not worth it.

i dont care if he's changed or not, i liked him the way he was and still is. so i wouldnt want him to change. secondly, i never thought he wanted to "get in my pants" i just wanted to know if he liked me at all or why he would talk to my friends about me but not to me personally

You should "wake up and smell the roses." If he likes you, then he wants into your pants. Sounds like he has several issues though so you would be best to raise your standards. Although that drunk may have been a one time thing; I kind of doubt it, and life with a drunk has a VERY lot to be desired. I once "fell back" with an old girlfriend who had become, over the many yrs we had not seen each other, a heavy drinker. Over the next bunch of years as time rolled on I got some tough lessons in dealing with heavy drinkers. This one was not in denial like so many and on her own two feet walked into treatment. 28 days then back to drinking, couple yrs later another 28 days and back to drinking, car trouble put her in jail for 6 months, then back to drinking, and then more trouble put her away in a 9 month treatment program which within a few days of leaving that one too she was back to drinking. Over the yrs she was raped, beaten, and admitted into various hospitals all due to excessive drinking. I could write a book of the hell her drinking put herself and all those that loved her through over the yrs but I eventually put distance between us and only now and then talk with her.
You sound very young so I'm sure regardless of what happens with this boy, there will be many others in your life as you grow; of course with each one you will probably feel like he is your soul mate at the time but remember that saying; "with age comes wisdom," and I have many yrs under my belt now and you have the opportunity here to take advantage of some of them. In a nutshell...... put as much distance as you can between yourself and heavy drinkers; they will only bring you down in the end, and the climb back up is a tough one.
