I have been a high school custodian for four years now. Let me say that both sexes can be nasty in the bathroom area.
Guys leave crap in the toilet, on the seat, pee on the floor, wipe snot on the wall, jam up the toilets with towels...I've seen it all.
Girls leave their used tampons on the back of the toilet, on top of the toilet paper dispenser, write on the mirrors with lipstick, also pee on the floor...
Yep, both sexes can be nasty.

Sorry Mr. Janitor.
I have been guilty on occasion when squatting over a public toilet to go pee, I have sprinkled on the floor.

Please accept my apologies for women who make a mistake now and then.

What is the reason for putting used tampons on the back of the toilet? Was that a mistake?

I either flush them or put them in a receptacle. I have tinkled a little on the floor while squatting also. Not purposely though.

It is a bad idea to flush a tampon, you risk blocking the toilet. They should be put in the bins provided in the public restrooms or in a rubbish bin if you are using your own home toilet.
