Am I an old fart?? (BTW I'm 36)
It kills me to read some of these posts. Either the spelling is atrocious or the grammar is.

The misspelled sentences either run on and on, or it just makes no sense!

My 9 year old can spell better and is more grammatically correct than a lot of the posts on here.

I know when you are in a hurry you can mistype a letter or two here and there, but some are ridiculous!!!!!!!

You can name it "Perfect Spellers" and have all of your little friends post their stories and you can correct all of the spelling errors! What fun!

Imagine the hostility over being grammatically correct.
Boggles my mind.
I guess I have as much against "retarded spellers" as you do against people with a 6th grade education and above.

Thank you for the advice about teaching my 9 year old.
Incidentally,she is in a gifted and talented reading program and has already had a "coffee table" book published.

I guess it's not such a bad thing to teach your children proper spelling and grammar.

Assuming most of the posters are in the US, it just confirms the report that put our school systems 4th FROM THE BOTTOM on a world wide list. Perhaps some of them write like that to try and be kewl but they don't realize how ignorant it makes them appear, or they do and they just don't care. Steve should find a way to lock out the youngins who don't belong here. Hey Mr. Webmaster, you listening?

As long as I get my point across, I really don't care about the corrct grammer, spelling, etc - it's just for fun, if it was something of importance, I would be more careful, but why am I explaining myself to some pompus ass who thinks she is Miss Grammer anyway? She's probably some big fat pig that sits around all day with a bag of Doritos stapled to her bathrobe watching Jerry Springer and ragging on people...

I'm sure it comforts you think of me that way. You can somehow try to feel "above " me if it were true.
In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. I work from home and occasionally poke through this message board for savage amusement.
I can't beleive there has been such negative reaction to my post. People not only verbally attacking me, but making false assumptions.

If anyone needs to "get a life" it would be the people defending others who think that it is somehow "wrong" or "pompus" to type like you have an IQ above 85.

People make all kinds of excuses about why does it matter about grammer, spelling. The truth is most people are stoopid, lol. People don't know how to write a basic thought. Sad really.
