Because my family had been here since 1620. English is the universal language and has been in this country since 1620. We have had our influx of Germans and Irish in the 1800's and Italians in the late 1800's to early 1900's BUT>>>>They worked hard and learned the language of thier new country and made an honest and decent living.They earned respect of thier fellow Americans.
They never asked for the "specialties" todays immigrants are and didn't cry RACIST at the drop of a hat!!!
Also, I despise drugs unless they are specifically used to help control a disease or condition.
I don't like dope peddlers hanging around malls corrupting youth and make looking "bad" or "gargsta" attractive to small town suburbanites who think that gangs, drugs, rap and black money are glamourous.

If you are in this country now, and think we are taking a nosedive...and we get what we deserve, you are probably an immigrant..illegal or otherwise. I suggest going back to the country you came from. Don't tell me to go back to England, because England took this country by force fair and square...as many nations have done before ...back to Alexander the great and Charlemage. It's survival of the fittest.

No, this country is in a downward spiral and has been since the Great War. If Christians would figure out that they dont rule the world, tolerance was preached instead of hellfire and brimstone, and if people would finally figure out that granting civil liberties to one group of people doesn't mean removing them from another group then we'd be in a better position. But instead, the UN has placed the USA in the company of Iraq, Iran, China, North Korea, and Russia as civil liberty abusers. Now i know what you're going to tell me "You're un-American, you can just get the fuck out if you dont like it!" But the fact of the matter is, i'm Irish blooded but born in america, i'm a soldier in the US Army, i'm a Druid (thats an ancient Irish religion, predates christianity), and I'm an active voter. The only thing more american than that is baseball and apple pie...i'm the OLD american stereotype, a warrior for my country, blood of an immagrant, one seeking religious freedom, and one that voices their opinion in the democratic system.

I agree with the original poster, but I also agree that Christians are arrogant in the way they think thier religion is the end-all, be-all. I was raised christian, but when I was old enough to erase the brainwashing teachings of Christian religion, I have practised paganism and found after much dabbling that I am a Panthiest (not to be confused with aithiest).
Pantheism is a close resemblance to paganism..but instead of mainly earth based it encompasses the universe and it's energy as a whole.
I have the right to express my religion, (or lack of) in any way I see suits me. I don't have to like other certain types of people either.
No one can tell me how I should and shouldn't feel..and what I can and can't say. I don't beleive a Virgin named Mary gave birth to the son of God...I don't beleive in Ghosts..and I believe that if you choose to embrace immigrants with thier babbling demands they make upon this country...go ahead, but don't you force me to feel like you, because I never will.
I am not talking about the hard working and respectable immigrants of the last century and before, but the new breed of pushy, bossy and demanding breed of arrogant and ignorant immigrants that come to this country and demand that YOU speak THIER language..and get welfare..special treatment...ect.
Any natural born citizen of this country has the right to disagree with thier countries dealings. The difference is these people bitching and moaning and flag burning.
Do something positive!! Run for office, start a campaign that you believe will put this country right if you think it's wrong.
Me..I have no beef with any of this countries dealing so far. Not everything has gone the way i want, but I get out and vote and go to meetings at the town level.
They are proposing a low income housing in my town.
You know what? Not in my back yard. That's right. Am I arrogant? Maybe. I don't want street thugs coming up from Alabama to take advantage of my states welfare system. I don't want low income scum selling drugs near my neighborhood. I want to keep it clean, keep it pure and keep it affluent. Am I a bigot? No..I openly admit that I don't want low life near me....and so what????
Why the hell should I pretent for anyone that I feel pity for low income families. From what I have seen they are low income from either mental illness, or just plain dumb. Socioeconomic victims? BULLSHIT! Take a look at the Irish, German and Italian immigrants...NEVER cried poormouth. They worked thier asses off to get a roof over thier families heads without a handout. Why can't these mexicans..hatians or whatever they are do the same?????

It so happens, I am low income, and I've never - NEVER - sold or took drugs. I think the gangsta look being sold as a fashion statement to impressionable youths of any color, along with the glamorization of that crimminal life style is a travesty. I don't have alot in material wealth, but it's not because of any mental illness or pure stupidity on my part. Nor do I blame any one else for my economic circumstances. Shit just happens. So don't you or anyone else group me with the drug dealing, thieving trash of this country, just because I don't have alot of money!
And if anyone is interested, my ancestors were among those German immigrants who came to this country in the 19th century, learned English (despite pride in their South Rhenish Franconian dialect of German), and took part in the Western expansion.
Geuss what, you are arragant. So go and grab your ankles, and let your priest give it to you up your ass!!!!!!!!!

The world is changing everyday. Soon there will be more people of color than whites. I believe that in the next twenty years whites will be a minority. I'm an African-American professional and I have no worries about the colorization of America. I also have no hatred for the disadvantaged of the world. I feel it is far more important to prepare ones self for the "New World".
I plan on learning spanish this year and I want to make a conscious effort to meet people who don't look like me. I figure if I start to do this I will be ahead of the game.
Life is way too short to hate and to fear.
