I am somewhat used to being alone and self-study, on one trip I took to travel abroad in Italy. My roomate and two other girls and two of our guy friends, who we had met earlier decided to go and explore the Vatican. After we arrived there, there was such a crowd that we got a bit seperated and agreed to meet at the entrance at which we entered after we were done. However I got a bit lost and when I had reached a part where many groups could take a break I saw three of them waiting witha map, obviously just as lost but openly scared and afraid of the curfew rules (yes.. there were some). I took the map and said "Don't Worry! I'm good with maps and I have an exellent visual memory, I'll lead." They were relieved and after waiting a bit we guesses that the fifth member was probably ahead of us(he was from the beggining). I studied the map and started walking with them following. i was familiar with teh surrounding streets so I led the group right back to teh entrance agreed upon. When we saw the fifth member walk towards us. I smilied and waved and was all calm. However, teh second we got back to our room.( a hostel) Ilaid down on my bed and cried so hard I was unrecognizable from teh person everyone thought I was. It was my first time in Italy...I was scared. I am ashamed of how I reverted to child that day (for just a few hours though...) My roommate saw and pitied me a bit ( I was the younger. I will never live that down to myself....especially since she inadvertently told our friends the next day...*grown*
