Around the time I got to high school I started getting more and more home responsibilities, from cooking to cleaning and babysitting. I had very little free time, my mother was focused on teaching me how to run a house.

Move forward twenty years, I got married. My husband is the CEO of a Midwest personnel company. My first clash with him was changing my name. I had to change my name, or give up on the marriage. My second clash came about having children, that is 100% on me. He wants children with me, never mind that he has three with his ex. Third clash was housekeeping. Once married it fell 100% on me. He never said it, but I felt it. Barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

I'm over it now, it is my burden to bear. I would never return my children, I could really use full time help at home. I have applied all my management skills to running my home, but I resent being the one that has to clean the toilets. Never liked doing it for my mother I do not like doing it in my home. My name? How do I explain my name. For 34 years I had one name, my name. Then whap, I have a new name. I now use it, but I miss my given name, I don't like the description maiden name.

Everything my mother made me do I do now. Including changing diapers. It's my season.

I ask you this respectfully.. what religion or sect are you?... was your father much the same way with your mother?.. did you anticipate that you were going to be in the situation your in, before you married your husband?... Are you the only wife, or are you first wife or a subsequent wife?.... Thank you so much for sharing...
