I have known since I was in Junior High that I am attracted physically and emotionally to other girls, that I wasn't experimenting, that my crush response was very real. However, I am a Catholic and I believe I am on this earth as a woman and I am healthy and of sound mind and am able to bear children and that I was born to conceive. I married a close friend who is very much aware of my lesbian nature but I married to fulfil my desire to have a large family. I am now the mother of five children and I would joyfully welcome a sixth. My husband and I can support our family, which we do. We have a family business and we encourage families and provide day care to our employees.

Long before I was destined as lesbian I was born female with all the faculties and abilities to be a mother. I do not agree with gay marriage or that children should be raised in a home of two men or two women who are romantically involved. This is my opinion, take it or leave it. The Bible doesn't approve of homosexual behavior, it doesn't address whether or not you happen to be homosexual. As with any other disability, you work to overcome your disability, you don't surrender to it and in doing so turn your back on your family, church and society.

Some feel it is their place to scream their views and shove their views down our throats, well I feel I can disagree and not support those views and shove my views down your throat until you stop shoving in my direction. There is no pride in being homosexual, it is an unfortunate biological abnormality.

The problem is, the bible is a work of fiction. You can believe whatever you like, but reality is reality. Have fun with the hate you're gonna get from saying homosexuality is a disability and a biological abnormality, lol!

Homosexuality is prevalent across all natural species in this world. One could say it is a biological abnormality from an evolutionary standpoint, but every facet of evolution and development has some purpose.

As for the bible, I'm not here to try and justify any views aside from the fact that the bible was written by those who sought to control and conform societies to a view they believed was correct. Are you aware that the story of the 'son of god' is thousands of years older than the story of Jesus? The Egyptians and ancient Greeks both incorporated this view into their belief systems. The story of Jesus is used as a foundation of a connection with a supreme being to humans throughout societies, many of which had little contact with one another.

The idea of singularity, oneness with everything is a foundation of Buddhism, which originated long before Christianity.

I'm not telling anyone what to believe, but to be so close-minded that you refuse to acknowledge historical fact is ignorance, and ignorance is the foundation of many destruction and divisive belief systems.

I once met a doctor who was a fundamentalist Christian. How can one study science, yet believe the earth is approx 6000-10000 years old?

As I said, believe what you will, I don't respect your opinions, but you have a right to believe what you will. That aside, please try just treating everyone with the same respect, kindness, and consideration you expect, and just perhaps this world will one day become a better place.

I am homosexual. I am also black. Life with two strikes. I am 55, not a kid. My life's journey has shown me that being homosexual is my burden. Along with any obvious social problems there are significant mental health issues and interpersonal issues. Being homosexual is a biological screw up, so is being a midget, or being obese. Didn't ask for it, but that doesn't mean that I believe it is an ok thing either. It is a terrible affliction. Being black is, well being black, that is not a biological mistake.

I agree with the OP, I really don't understand Gay Pride, it celebrates something no one would trade to be in, there is no pride, no accomplishment, no effort. I am a concert trumpet player, that I am proud of. I work hard to remain concert ready.
