I had an interview in New York with a French bank. I go, the bank arranges for one of their people to take me to dinner, he suggests that we go down to the Village (my first time on the subway) and we have dinner at one of the Italian places and when we are going back uptown to my hotel and we are waiting on for the subway two girls show up, in heels and long hair and they start flirting and then fall into this long, very long kiss. I have to stare. The guy that is with me touches my elbow and says it is impolite to stare. I guess I looked at him inappropriately but why not stare, they were doing it in a public space. He asks me if I have a problem with gay women, I say no of course I don't. I tell him it is just that where I come from gay people don't make out in a public space. He asks me how do I know and I tell him because I am gay and I know, you don't make out in a public space. He says he is gay and if I am gay then I won't have a problem with him kissing me in a public space. And so there we stood two gay guys in their twenties kissing and two gay girls in their twenties staring at us.
