Truth.
My father was a rising executive in a very large corporation. He earned a large salary. We lived in a nice home in a premium neighborhood, we attended the best private school. Then he had a stroke which left him paralyzed, mute and psychologically abusive. His job ended, insurance paid a lot, but not all, he had disability but he hadn't paid the premium for the larger payout so we got the minimum, which was twenty two percent of his base. Stock options and bonuses were gone. My mother couldn't deal with her new condition, she took an overdose of pills and committed suicide. Her life insurance premiums had lapsed. I was sixteen, my sister thirteen and what ever else we had was taken by the institution that took our father, destitute and paralyzed, unable to speak and psychologically disturbed he was medicated and I believe he went insane.
We went to live with our maternal grandmother, she was a widow on a very limited income. We went to a public school in our new neighborhood far away from our old private school. None of our previous friends cared, we were poor and you only associated with poor kids during fake care day, no one associated with poor kids even if we had been in school with them from the first grade. I had to take a job at the supermarket in the floral department. I was r***d by a stocking clerk. I had to get an abortion, he got five years and served two, he was black so I guess what he did was O.K.
Neither my sister or I managed to finish a college degree we both have to work full time. Our father died after our grandmother died and we had to borrow the money to cremate him. We never had a conversation with him after his stroke.
So, this is just a story from riches to rags, bad luck, bad choices, depression, bad people who took huge advantage of us after my father's stroke and a few good people.
My sister and I live together, we are lower middle class, we are single, we don't fit in where we live. For us life sucks.
