if i didn't know how hurt he would be, i would kill myself right now. i have the razor. i've been cutting myself all day. he's going to call me in 6 hours and i'll tell him that i'm fine, that i really think this is a good idea, that we both really need a break to get our lives in order. i'll wait for him to tell me he loves me. if he does, i'll say it back. then he'll hang up first, and i'll cry until i fall asleep. i want to die and i don't know what i am supposed to do. i have no one. he has run off to stay with friends, he goes to work and has people to talk to. i'm here, working at home, all alone with no one. and all i can do is hope that if i pretend i'm ok for long enough that he might come back.

Buddy of mine killed himself long ago and he shocked all of us. His net worth as I learned after his death, was around 3 million so that should not have been the issue. He was also the happy "life of the party" type. Always with the laugh and appearing to be having a great time with the many friends he appeared to have. My point here.... just because you may think he is out there with so many; inside he may be feeling very much alone but no matter really. You need to work on fixing you so you can move on, and you know, talking from some experience in the roll of the dumped one; time will heal things and you'll be a stronger person as a result. In my case there were also two kids involved; now that was the WORST part. Since you made no mention of kids it appears there are none so you are really lucky.

You're right, I don't have kids. It's been 6 years since the last time I cut myself and I thought I'd grown and progressed so much.... I am completely shocked and frightened by my reaction. I feel like I'm 16 years old all over again.

What do you mean you have no one..... You have YOU so for now you work on YOU. Do you actually believe that he is the only one on this entire planet for you.... well perhaps now you do but I surely don't. I'm about twice your age and over my past years there have been several times when I've felt "very low" due to a failed relationship but in each case I obviously pulled through, learned from it, and as a result became a stronger healthier person, eventually ready for the next relationship.
