I'm pregnant with my son's baby - and yet I'm happy. Please, don't ridicule me or say anything harsh. I know I've made mistakes. I did things that I thought were smart but weren't. I can't un-ring the bell. I'm writing here for advice, and maybe to explain myself.

I was foolish and got married at age 18 and had my son, Drew (not his real name) when I had just turned 19. I thought I was in love but I learned early on that my husband was cheating on me. Also, he could be abusive emotionally and even borderline physically. When I thought Drew was in danger, I left my husband, divorced him, and went on my own. My pride got in my way so I didn't go to my parents for help even when the alimony and child support checks failed to arrive.

It was a struggle, but I completed my degree, got a job and took care of my baby son. In the early days he had a crib, but as he got older I could not afford a bed for him. So we shared a bed but there was nothing ever, ever sexual. We would both sleep in pajamas and when he was little he would sleep with his little stuffed dog. As he got older, we would talk, but it was always about things that we were doing, what time I had to be to work, or he had to be to Little League or soccer or how school was going. That sort of thing.

When he got to be about 13 he started to notice the girls and sometimes we would talk about girls, but it was always mom giving him advice. Nothing else. He did tell me, at age 14, that he and his girlfriend were having sex. I was shocked, but appreciated his honesty. I told him that I thought he was too young but that if he thought that he and his girlfriend were ready, then I would respect their decision and made sure that they had condoms.

I was not totally comfortable with my decision, but that's not the point. I just want to show, whatever else, that our relationship was close but things were appropriate. As far as sleeping arrangements, when we finally got him his own bed at age 7, he would spend the night in it, but there were nights that he would come into my room in his pajamas and lay in my bed and we would talk. Again, nothing inappropriate and generally he would go back to bed, though every now and then we would fall asleep, but again, nothing happened.

When he got to be about 12, when it was warm, he started sleeping in his underwear and there were times he would come into my room and talk while in his underwear. He didn't seem bashful and frankly I didn't think seeing him in his underwear was any different than seeing him in a Speedo.

When he was 14, though, he came into my room naked. I was surprised and told him to put on some pajamas or something. But he just laughed it off and said that it was warm out, he liked sleeping naked and wasn't I the one who always told him that I had seen him before he had seen himself. So he had me and I just accepted it and from then on, not always, but from time to time he would wander into my room to talk while he was naked, but again, nothing sexual ever happened.

I won't lie, but I did notice that he was developing into a healthy male, but honestly, unless I'm kidding myself, it was not a sexual attraction. It was simply a mother's pride that her son was no longer a little boy but was becoming a man. (My son is, I will say, good looking. He loves sports and keeps himself in good shape. He has boyish good looks, with dark brown hair, blue eyes and a lovely smile. But I hardly think recognizing that is the same thing as sexual attraction.)

I will say that as he got older we did become more casual about nudity and if one of us was in the shower while the other was brushing teeth or whatever, or maybe going to or from the bathroom from our rooms, we might see each other naked. I look back at this and wonder if I wasn't too tolerant, but again, he was dating girls - although at his age it rarely lasted long - and it seemed so normal and non-sexual. I would also sometimes see him - even in my bed - with an erection (and I accidentally went into his room a couple of times and caught him masturbating) but even when he was in my room with a boner the talk was not sexual and I just assumed it was the result of the normal hormones of a teenage boy.

Things crossed the line when he was almost 17. We had a very bad patch. For his part, he was hurt by a girl he really liked - but I admit that I probably didn't take his hurt as seriously as I should have. The problem I was having was that I guy I had been seeing broke up with me and at about the same time I lost my job, we had some car trouble. It seemed like everything in my life was going wrong again. We were short of cash again and I was scared and tired. One night he heard me in the shower crying my eyes out. I just couldn't take it anymore. He heard me and got into the shower with me and held me.

I should have stopped it right then and there, but for the first time in a long while I felt safe and it felt so good to be held by someone who loved me and we started to kiss and he sucked on my boobs like he hadn't done since he was a baby and I reached down and started rubbing his penis and from there we got out of the shower. I told him that I didn't think having sex was a good idea but he told me he loved me and that we had shared so much and that there was nothing wrong with showing our love.

I should not have, I knew I should not have, but I gave in. I suddenly realized that I not only loved my son, but that I was in love with my son. He is mature for his age, but he was only 16 and that shows too. One minute he seems like a man, the next minute a boy, but I was so scared and so lonely and he was so loving and gentle and so we began a sexual relationship.

When I found out I was pregnant I didn't tell him right away. I was terrified about how he would react, and I was terrified about how it would impact our relationship and how he would do in school. A million thoughts raced through my head but when I did jin up the courage to tell him I was totally surprised by his response.

I thought he would freak out, but instead he was thrilled. He was so happy. He kept saying, "I'm gonna be a dad. Really!!!?? I'm gonna be a dad. Mom I love you so much!!!" I've never seen him smile so much and then he started to cry out of sheer happiness. I didn't know whether to be relieved or terrified.

So we went along for a bit, but I kept worrying about how this would effect Drew. He was so happy, but I was worried that it would effect his plans for college and his future. I've been so lucky. I've done the Internet searches and I am so blessed. Drew's grades are good, he has friends. By all rights he should be so messed up but he isn't. He is just a happy kid in school who is thrilled that he is going to be a daddy. When he comes home he'll kiss me and then bend down to my belly and say, "Hi Junior," - he keeps calling the baby "Junior," though we just found out we are expecting a boy - "This is your daddy, and I love you with all my heart!!!"

I actually don't believe in abortion, but knowing how much this baby could adversely effect my son's future I considered at one point having an abortion, but when I told him I was thinking about it we had several serious discussions and he was dead set against it. What finally totally stopped me was when, in a really heated argument, he said to me, "Mom, you don't get it. I'm going to be the dad I never got to have."

I was stunned and realized I could not abort this baby. Besides, as time has worn on, I realize that I want this baby for all the right reasons. It's a precious little life no matter the circumstances of his birth. He is a beautiful gift that my son has given to me by sharing his naked body with me. It's not good circumstances, but I've come to think of it as beautiful and I want to have this baby to share something beautiful with my son.

So we've decided a few things.

1) Fatherhood or no, my son will go to college, though we have not worked out yet if he is going to be dorm resident - because I want him to have the whole college experience - or as a commuter. When I insisted that he go to college, he said, of course, because he was going to provide a good living for his son. I was so proud of him. My son will graduate from high school in early June, turn 18 in late June and the baby is due in August, so I think we can make this work.

2) We've decided not tell my doctor who the father is. I just told my doctor that it was a man who I didn't want in my baby's life and I asked if Drew could be present at the birth. The doctor said that was unusual, but he thought it could be worked out. My son is thrilled but I'm a bit nervous that the doc might figure out that the baby's father is my 17 year old son. Should I be worried?

3) What I am worried about is that we are not getting some of the special testing that the baby needs. This worries me. I know there is a very real chance that the baby will have birth defects but I don't know how to get him tested beyond the normal prenatal tests. So far all my examinations seem to be showing everything normal, but I'm worried. Does anyone know how I might get the additional tests I need? Please help me.

4) I know I've made some serious mistakes, but I need to know what someone out there, someone who does not know me and can see things from the outside, thinks about how I've handled this. Did I do the right thing not having an abortion? The baby seems so important to my son - and he wants so much to be a dad. I know that, in many ways that is just a boy romanticizing the father he never had, but he is also mature for his age, he is keeping his grades up and has many friends, both guys and gals, I think it would hurt him so deeply to abort the pregnancy. Am I right?

5) Most of all, my son and I continue to have a sexual relationship and I plan, so long as he wants it to continue to have sex with him. Partly, I won't lie, it is because I want it. I need to feel him and be close. I know this sounds awful but, if I am honest, I love feeling him inside me. Also, it is because when I suggested we stop having sex he seemed very hurt. I don't want him to feel rejected by me the way he feels rejected by his father. I don't want him to think that his wanting to be a father is something that should be punished. I don't want him to lose that intimacy he feels. He not only enjoys the sex, he tells me that he needs it. I know that a young man has sexual needs, but I also sense that it means something to him emotionally. I don't think I'm kidding myself. But I want the sex for both of us. Am I wrong? tl;dr

I see a future where my son and I will raise his son together. We have not totally worked out what we'll tell the baby when he gets older about who is mother is, but my son and I plan to do the homework to find the best way to raise our son. Of course, I realize that my son might meet a girl and fall in love and I am preparing myself to give way if he finds someone else in his life. Right now my son says that I am the only woman he wants, but things change, especially with 17 year old men, and I want what is best for him so I am willing to make that sacrifice and take the chance that I may have to step back.

If you've read all of this I am so sorry I prattled on. I'm trying to do the right thing after making some mistakes and I wanted to know what people thought about how I've handled it. Again, please don't be harsh. I know I've made mistakes and my happiness is tinged with a bit of regret and apprehension. I just want to know how someone else sees it.

Inbreeding is genetically harmful and dangerous to offspring. Google inbreeding and see for yourself.

Yes, I understand that. However, as I said, I cannot un-ring the bell. I love this baby and I love my son. Even still, as I wrote, I thought of having an abortion but my son wants this baby. Should I hurt him and have an abortion anyhow?

You didn't tell me anything I didn't know. You really did not help.

Just pray and hope for the best. No one really know what will happen, you are looking at 50/50 chances.

Thank you. I will. I pray for a healthy happy baby at that my son will be the father he wants to be. To hear him tell me that he was going to be the father he never had broke my heart. And I have grown to love the beautiful little gift he gave me. I just don't know if I am doing the best thing for my son. I would appreciate your thinking.

Men have a brain and a penis but only enough blood to use one at a time, your son is still a child and he thinks with his penis, you should be the mature responsible parent and think for both of you. You can't unring the bell but at a minimum get the spec****st testing done. If I was you, I would get an abortion, you're trying to use the baby to please your son but it could end up ruining his life,he's too young to make his own life choices. Also, the relationship is not a long term one, once the sex is out of the way, what have you got then? You both need partners your own age. As a mother you have the instinct as to what is right and wrong, deep down you actually know the answer but you just looking for affirmation in this forum. Do the right thing, for both of you.

But should the baby be punished because of what I have done? I have often thought that what you wrote may be right. I even mentioned it in my initial post, but I think you are wrong when you say that I am just using the baby to please my son. I see it as so much more than that. I also agree that, in many ways, my son is still a child, but he has also has good grades, he wants to go to college - he says so that he can give his son a good life.

Please re-read what I wrote. You have given me much to think about, but I don't get the sense that you thought much about I wrote. It is those mitigating things - and I disagree that all I share with my son is the sex - that have made me decide to have the baby.

There is a lot of merit in what you wrote, which is why I am questioning my own decision. By the same token, I love my son, I love this baby, and given all that I have mentioned, I am deeply uncomfortable with punishing the baby because of the circumstances of his birth.

I also agree with you about the specialized testing, but have been afraid to do so. So far, as I mentioned, the tests have shown normal, but I am not sure that they cover all the potential problems. Do you know of a way to get the specialized testing without giving away that the baby is my son's child?

If you've done a serious google search on the subject, then you should already know that the chances of any birth defects in your son/grandson are very small.

So don't worry about it. And in 14 - 15 year's time, maybe you'll have a second i****tuous partner joining you in bed.

Thank you both so much. I've read different things on the chances of birth defects. I have been too worried to have special testing done on the baby, but so far all of my exams have turned up normal.

And while I appreciate what you wrote, I don't want to have my son/grandson as another sex partner. I love my son and I love sex with him, but if I could un-ring the bell I would. Not because I don't love my son or want this baby, but because it leaves so many hard choices.

I hope I am making the right decisions and, unless my son meets someone else, I hope to have a long life with him of love and passion and, yes, parenting. And (#8) I don't blame you that you wish that you had sex with your mom. It has been beautiful for me.

But as I say, it has been hard in many ways, and while I am happy, I don't want the sex for the sex, I want it as an expression of love for my son so long as he wants it.

Thank you both again.

Enjoy yourselves and the baby, there is but one short life to live.

This is beyond sick. You need serious help your son is still a child regardless of his maturity and you, well you are just selfish for using that child to please your needs and now another child is on the way for you to use as well.
You are eternally damned, have a nice life -_-

Are you financially comfortable now? Will you be able to look after the child?Eventually, your son will find a wife and will not provide for this first child of his. There can also be a dispute over property you will inherit from your parents.

I won't call it a mistake that you made love and continue making love. It's with mutual consent and is mutually satisfying. No problem there.Don't feel guilty but do consider the issues I have mentioned.Best luck.

There are tests to check if the child will have any defects. You will have to discuss that with your gynaecologist and you might have to be ready with a convincing reply if he asks you why you need the tests..

Response to #14 - I made a mistake and am doing the best to handle it. I love my son and I love this baby and I am trying to take responsibility. As to being damned, well I might, but I hope you won't mind if I don't take the sanctimonious moral judgments of a person who is reading an adult website too seriously. I'm a little skeptical of advice from a person who is masturbating while preaching.

Response to #15: Thank you so much. I don't know that I did an amazing thing, and I have regrets, but my relationship to my son is deep and loving and we care about each other deeply. He has made me happier than any other man I have been with. Thank you, though, for your kindness.

Response to #16: I am reasonably comfortable. I have to work for a living, but I have a degree and a professional job. I can afford this baby. Thank you, though, I will take what you have said into account. Some of what you have said is speculative. My son is so excited to be a father I find it hard to imagine that he would reject his son. That said, if he did, I could handle it financially. Good advice and thank you for your understanding.

Response to #17: That has been my biggest concern. So far I have been reluctant to ask for any special testing because of the questions it raises. My regular check-ups have shown everything is normal, but I do want to do additional testing. I was thinking maybe I could go to Planned Parenthood for additional tests. I am open to any advice you might have.

Well, my advice is seek professional advice. Not from people on here like me #11. That may be hard to come by though. They just don't have time for you really. Your baby is just another lazy swimming sperm that saw a buoy to land on which turned out to be your egg. Nothing special about you, your son, or the baby. Take it up the ass from now on is some good advice if you would consider it.

For what it is worth, I have consulted multiple advice site - thinking that the more advice, the better - as well as my own doctor to the extent I can, Planned Parenthood - though not on the particular point - and any other medical sources I can find. I made a mistake and I am doing my best to handle it. Some people have been thoughtful and given me useful advice, some are just kind, which is deeply appreciated.

You? Just snarky and self-righteous.

Whatever the outcome, I wish you all the best. If I was in either you or your son's position, I would feel the same. As long as the baby is loved by both of you, you will all get through these challenges, but it will just get harder as you all age. Love is the only advice I can give you.

Thank you so much for your kindness. I have been so scared and I love my son and my baby so much. You are so kind and understanding that I cried when I read what you wrote. I will take your advice and I offer it back to you for the kindness you have shown me.

Since you are handling the situation well, why ask for advice?

Because, handling the situation means not only doing something about it, but studying and seeking advice so that you can handle it better. You suggest a distinction where one does not exist. Handling it means doing all the things you need to do - including seeking the input of others - so that you can make the best decisions possible.

Sorry to hear of the situation but it seems you are striving to do the best and handle this the best way for yourself which is all that matters. I'm sure many women having babies don't want the suspected fathers present is not rare. Maybe having a son present for the birth is but maybe then again no what with hospitals and birthing facilities have birthing suites that allow friends and family to be present. In a maternity sense have the medical personnel conduct whatever tests you feel needed based on what you suspect are unknowns coming from the unnamed father. You want to see results just for you own peace of mind. Surely things will be all right, especially with your young age. Best of luck to you with all this now and in the future.

Thank you so much. That's the way I've been leaning - that is, telling my doctor that the father and I are on bad terms and I just want the tests. As to having my son at the birth, he was thrilled when my doctor said it could arranged and we don't seem to be getting much pushback from it. I am thrilled that he will be there to see the birth of his son.

When I told my son that I was pregnant with his child I thought that he would panic. I have been so happy that his response has been so good. It hit me so hard too, when he said it was important to him to be a better father than his dad was. That was when I realized how important this was to him and how much that I loved this baby myself. This little person inside me is a gift that my son has given me.

I know it sounds so granola, but this baby is an expression of our love. Something that my son and I have shared. I know that this is not ideal and I know that it is problematic in so many ways, but when I feel my son next to me, when he kisses me and holds me, and yes when we have sex, I have to believe that there is some goodness in all of this.

Thank you so much for your advice and your understanding. You cannot know how much I appreciate it.

You must not have a damn thing to do but get-off on this shit! Amazed at how many people console your drama, but, also amazed nobody has predicted your future. What kind of check do you want?

Well, I guess not everyone can meet your high standard. I'm not even sure what you are saying. What kind of check do I want? I'm not asking for one. I was asking for opinions and some have offered them - and if you read carefully, some have "predicted my future." Pretty amazing because, when you parse what you wrote, you didn't say much of anything.

Believe me, I get it. I have to live with this every day and some have laid those risks out - some harshly, some with kindness. You, on the other hand, just offered a gripe that no one was insightful as you.

Do you know GSA? It is genetic sexual attraction. Nothing to do with your situation, but I faced it almost thirty years ago. Then I didn't knew anything about it, but when I met my biological father the first time, we fell in love. It was like two pieces of puzzle had come together, but in the mean time I was also living together with my boyfriend and it wasn't as easy and wonderful as it might sound.

I didn't want to accept those feelings because my love had sexual side too, and for a year I was fighting with myself because I could'nt think nothing but my dad. We were in the phone regularly, sometimes hours when my boyfriend were not around. My boyfriend were even complaining about the bill, which I gladly paid. Within six months I had confessed how I felt and dad felt the same. It was uncomfortable to be on the phone with him when my boyfriend were around, but also great when he was not at home.

It took time to meet him. We had promised not to have sex, but next time when I met him we had sex. Not just sex, but unprotected and not just once. I met my dad every few months and we had sex. Our sex, cheating my boyfriend, and my feelings was tearing me apart every time when I got back to my home. I eventually broke up with my boyfriend because deep down I already knew that if we would continue, and I knew we would continue, I would end up pregnant. I wasn't thinking or planning of it, but I kind of sensed it would happen. My boyfriend knew I had strong feelings for dad, but he had no idea that my feelings were sexual too and that we had consummated our love. I was fighting with myself for a year before one time I had got back home and not feeling so great, I broke up with him.

Only few days, if I recall right, just three days after our broke up, I found out I was pregnant. I moved in with my dad. I had all the same worries you have now. Back then the stories of such a babies were horror stories but our baby were fine. We had no tests then, and I wouldn't knew how to ask them either. But you may want to reconsider doing the tests, because doctors are reluctant to make tests to fetuses. There is higher risks to do it without considerable suspicion that something is not right. If they do not find any reason, they might question you why you would want to do those tests. Then they might find out you are expecting a baby for your own son.

Thank you so much. I can imagine that it was not easy to tell your story and I'll never be able to express how much I appreciate it. And I am so happy that you have a beautiful baby and a good and loving relationship with your dad.

I've actually arranged for a few tests. I just told my doctor a story that as I had a bad relationship with the father and ha had not been in my life for long that I was just being careful. They seemed to have accepted that and in fact I'll get the testing done next week.

But you have made some good points and I may change my mind. I have read so much conflicting information on the risks to the baby that I am not sure what to think. My son is scared to death and does not want me to take the tests, so in that he is where you are.

Thank you, though and happiness to you, your father and your beautiful baby.

#34 I'm interested what makes you think she have mental illness. Are you expert on such a things? Any psychology or psychiatric education?

Yes that is what I thought, you don't have even simple medical training. Otherwise you would had known how to speak about possible mental patient. You are not exactly criticizing her and be on her side when you assume she does have mental illness and you say her story is pretty sick shit. Only reason why you think she might have mental illness is because of i****t with his son, right?
