A Naval aviator I pipelined into heavier aircraft quickly mostly due to my age, then late 20's because I had been an enlisted man in the USMC prior to returning for flight training. Landing on an aircraft carrier is a controlled crash and as dangerous as it gets, so I was glad to fly an old bus.

These long flights gave me time to reminisce. In my freshman year in High School I was playing "spin the bottle" at a party and caught the bottle between me and Becky, a stunning, blue-eyed girl with corn-silk blonde hair that took my breath away. When it came out time to kiss I felt I had been taken up to heaven. It was also a hot kiss, loaded with sexuality. It was far too brief in duration.

Soon after the incident she took up with the football quarterback so that was the last I saw of her...until years later. She was on my mind and in my heart all four years and I pined away. Some of you know exactly what I am talking about.

Before college I joined the Marines and had a deployment to the middle east. I was left unscathed. I went to college on the GI Bill then applied for flight training and got in, never forgetting Becky, the dream of my boyhood.

So, one day on leave wearing my whites and gold wings I went to where I heard Becky worked.
She was then the manager of a rug store. I walked in and looking around, noticed a plump woman. Neither of us recognized each other. However, I could tell it was her, underneath what had to be over 250 pounds of flesh (at 5'5"). Her stunning, flowing locks of blonde hair were now darker and short cropped. Her face, now filled out, she still had the lovely, light blue eyes.

I did not identify myself, now realizing that she could not possibly remember a little kid she kissed all those years before. I browsed the carpets and left, thanking her.

So on my next long flight, I awakened to the realization that Becky was mostly a figment of my imagination. I had pined away all those years after an illusion.
