I ran away and never returned. I made my way to Chicago and worked at a fast food place. I said I was in school so my shifts were always in the afternoon, but I wasn't in school. I lived in this crummy small apartment with only a bed and a nightstand. I ate at the fast food place. I lived there for over a year.
Mid 16, I got picked up by a man after work. He screwed me in my little apartment three times that night. I had never been screwed, but I needed the money and he had offered me a hundred dollars. In the morning he made me crawl to him and suck him while I was on my hands and knees and I got another 25 dollars. When he left I looked at the money, a whole hundred and twenty five dollars for him to screw me all night and make me suck him like a dog.
I used the money and bought a bus ticket and made it to Salt Lake City. In Salt Lake I was taken in by a Mormon Church that worked with runaways. I saw a doctor and he told me I was pregnant. When the baby was born I gave it up for adoption, I never found out if it was a boy or a girl. I lived in Salt Lake at this place for runaways and finished High School there. I was encouraged to marry a Mormon man. He was a widower and he had three daughters who were already 17, 15 and 12. I was barely 18. I had to convert first.
I had children every year for five years. Both his oldest and middle daughters married and they had children while I was having mine. I never loved him, but I have been his wife. I lived in a nice house and he treated me ok, except for having me get pregnant so many times. All his daughters ended up with five kids apiece. That is all we did, keep house and raise kids. That was our job.
When my daughters got of age to be married all I wanted for them was to be married to a good man and start having babies. All my kids, the three girls and the two boys, who married Mormon girls, have large families. I was an only child of a drunk woman, and by the time I welcomed my last grandchild I had 24, not counting how ever many children the child I gave up for adoption had.
The only good thing that has come out of my life is having this big family.
