Over here in the UK back in the 1970's schools had a a strict uniform code and schools had what were called Prefects...you knew them by a badge they would wear on their uniform blazers...they acted as general "guards" and school rule and discipline enforcers. They were taken from the final two years of school...5th or 6th form boys, usually academically spot on and always well turned out in uniform. I remember at the close of the school year in 1974,some 150 of us rounded up the Prefects...there were 15 of them....we beat them up where we found them,carried/dragged them off to the main school hall and piled them all up in a great heap and then stripped them of their uniforms and boots (they all wore side-zip boots that went almost calf and knee high, that zipped up under the trousers).

I thought prefects were only in Harry Potter? Is it just an English thing?

A very active school tradition in Britain to have Prefects.Though perhaps not as active as some years ago.

Wouldn't it have been easier to strip them before you piled them up?

Was much more fun rolling them around in a pile.seeing them flop limply on top of each other as they were stripped.
