I agree. There was only one reason she told you and that was to hurt you.
There was no love in that act.
Cut them out of your life like a cancer. Move at least a 100 miles away without telling them anything, until you move. Them if you want to you can tell them in a nice long note and get it all out.
Go to counseling.
Love yourself and you will love others.
She will die, but it may be 60 years before she dies.
it is very okay to cut her out of your life. You don't need that. love yourself. no you didn't ask to be brought into this world but you are here enjoy yourself. cut mom out of your life. move away and don't tell her where you are going.
i can totally relate. i just posting a message explaining that my mother made an emotional wreck of me, too. i was not wanted, either. the difference between your mother and mine was that your mother told you the truth. my mother would never have admitted that she didn't want me, or even like me, cause it would make her look bad. of course, her behavior told me that i was not wanted, even when her words didn't.
i can tell you, though, that there is hope. if you had parent/parents who loved you, it is very difficult to understand the damage done by emotionally neglectful/abusive parents. BUT, you can heal and make a good life for yourself. i am proof.
some of you say that the poster should cut their mother out of their life like a cancer? do you really think it is okay to cut your mother out of your life? i just posted a message asking this question. i cut my mother out, and it has brought emotional healing into my life. but i still don't have peace with the decision. i have guilt.
i would appreciate opinions. thanks.
I empathise with the original poster. Please get some counselling over the issue as bitterness and resentment will only lead you further down the drinking road and will eventually destroy you. Believe you and me, I've been there and could quite easily go back there but I choose not to these days. I was unwanted by my mother and I spent years upon years hate fuelled which lead me to abusing myself with drink and drugs. I found the way to feel love for my mother was to accept her for who she is. She too has said some hurtful, hateful and nasty stuff to me but I chose to forgive her and accept her for who she is. Resentment is a cup of poison meant for others, not yourself and you are worth so much more than allowing your mother to ruin your life. If you keep reliving what she has said to you in the past, your future will always be marred. I wish you all the best.
